Q. Does National Medical Professional provide confidential assistance to its insureds?
A. National Medical Professional insureds may contact our risk management department for confidential assistance with a variety of issues. This may include untoward outcomes, complications, proper documentation, issues involving informed consent or informed refusal, and terminating a patient from care. These calls are confidential and do not constitute reporting a claim, which must be done in writing to the claims department in order to trigger coverage. Medical malpractice claims may sometimes be avoided through early reporting and disciplined event management.
