Q. Do you require my consent prior to settling a claim?
A. It depends on the policy issued to you or your corporation, and the State in which you provide professional services. Some states do not permit a "consent-to-settle" provision in policies issued in that State. However, you should carefully think about the need for a consent to settle provision. We believe that if you have a trusted relationship with your insurance carrier, and that the carrier is looking out for your best interests, a consent to settle clause is not necessary.
